People Tab Overview

The People tab is the central directory for managing everyone involved in your projects from team members, buyers, and external contacts.

Updated over 2 months ago

The People tab organizes internal team members, buyers, and external professional contacts into separate sections so roles, access, and communication stay clear.

This tab helps ensure the right people are connected to the right homes, with accurate contact information visible across Operator and the Buyer Portal.

Contact Types

Operator organizes people into three categories:

  • Team
Internal users who work in Operator (sales, construction, closing, etc.).

  • Buyers
Prospective or current homeowners associated with a property.

  • Contacts
External professionals such as lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, or insurance providers.

Each person appears once in the global directory and can be associated with one or more properties.

Teams

The Teams section is where you manage all internal users in your organization. These are team members who actively work in Operator, such as sales agents, construction managers, and closing coordinators.

Purpose

  • Maintain a directory of internal team members

  • Define roles and titles

  • Manage access to homes and communities

What you can do

  • Add and edit team members
Create new users or update existing profiles to keep contact details current.

  • Assign team members to homes
Connect team members to specific properties so they have visibility into the homes they manage.

  • Set a primary contact
Designate one team member as the primary contact for a home so buyers know who to reach out to.

Buyers

The Buyers section contains a list of all homebuyers across your properties.

Purpose

  • Manage buyer contact information

  • Control access to the Buyer Portal

  • Ensure buyers are connected to the correct home

What you can do

  • Add and invite buyers
Add buyers to a home and send them an invitation to the Buyer Portal.

  • View buyer details
See contact information and which homes are associated with each buyer.

  • Manage portal access
Confirm buyers are connected to the correct property and have received their invitation.

Contacts

The Contacts section is your directory for external professional partners who are involved in transactions but are not internal team members.

This typically includes lenders, title agents, and insurance providers.

Purpose

  • Maintain a reusable list of external partners

  • Associate contacts with specific homes

  • Provide buyers with a complete directory of transaction contacts

What you can do

  • Add professional contacts

    • Create contacts by entering their name, company, and contact details.

  • Assign contacts to homes

    • Link contacts to properties so their information appears for buyers.

Professional contacts do not have access to Operator. Their details are displayed in the Buyer Portal for reference.

How Teams, Buyers, and Contacts Work Together

The People tab connects internal teams, buyers, and external contacts to each home.

For example:

  • A home goes under contract

  • Internal team members are assigned from Teams

  • Buyers are added and invited from Buyers

  • A lender or other partner is linked from Contacts

When buyers access the Buyer Portal, they see a clear directory of everyone involved in their transaction, including their internal builder team and external partners.
