Updated over 2 months ago

Each tool serves a distinct purpose. Using the correct one helps keep communication clear, organized, and easy to reference throughout the transaction.

Updates to Buyers

Updates are used for one-to-many communication. They are best for sharing progress, milestones, and general social media-style information related to a home.

  • The buyer’s view

  • The buyer’s notification history

Messaging Buyers (Group Messages)

Messages are used for direct, two-way communication tied to a property.

They act similarly to text messaging and are best for conversations that require a response.

When to use Messages

  • Answering a buyer’s question

  • Coordinating with internal team members

  • Sending reminders related to appointments or next steps

  • Sharing a specific document or image in context

Send a Group Message

  1. Open Messages
From the property navigation, select Messages.

  2. Type your message
Enter your message in the text field at the bottom of the conversation.

  3. Send
    Press Enter or click Send.

    • Messages are visible to all assigned buyers

    • Messages are visible to all assigned internal team members

Attaching Media to Messages

Files can be shared directly within a message thread.

  1. Open the conversation
Navigate to the property’s Messages tab.

  2. Add an attachment
Click the attachment icon in the message composer.

  3. Upload the file
Select a photo, video, or document from your device.

  4. Send
Optionally add text, then click Send.

This is useful for responding to a specific request without posting a public update.

Choosing the Right Tool

Use Updates for:

  • Announcements

  • Milestones

  • Curated progress and media

Use Messages for:

  • Conversations

  • Questions

  • Coordination that requires a response

Using both tools intentionally helps maintain clear communication and creates a complete activity record for each home.
