The Managing Utilities feature in OPERATOR provides a centralized library for all utility provider information, enabling you to streamline your process and deliver critical details to buyers efficiently. By creating a master list of providers, you can quickly link them to communities and properties, ensuring every buyer receives accurate and consistent information for a smooth move-in.
Add/Edit/Remove Utilities
Maintaining an accurate master list of utility providers is the first step toward automating and simplifying the transfer of services. This library serves as the single source of truth for all projects.
To add a new utility provider:
Navigate to the Advanced Tab: From the main menu, select Advanced.
Select Utilities: In the menu, click on Utilities to access your master list of providers.
Add New Utility: Click the Add New button to open the creation form.
Complete Provider Details:
Service Type: Select the type of utility (e.g., Gas, Electric, Water, HOA).
Company Name: Enter the official name of the provider.
Contact Information: Input the provider's phone number, website, and any other relevant details.
Save Provider: Click Save Changes. The provider is now added to your master library and can be linked to any community or property.
To edit an existing utility provider:
From the Utilities master list, locate the provider you wish to update.
Open the provider and click the Edit icon on the provider's page.
Modify the contact information or other details as needed and click Save Changes.
Link Utilities to Properties & Communities
Linking providers from your master list to specific communities is the key to automating information delivery. Once linked, the utility information is automatically included in the buyer's portal for every home in that community.
To link utilities to a community:
Navigate to Communities: Go to the Advanced tab and select Communities.
Choose a Community: Click on the community you wish to configure.
Access Utility Management: Find the Utilities section and click the Add new button.
Select Providers: Search for utility providers or service types using the search bar.
Assign Providers: Choose your preferred service providers to create a tailored network for this community.
Save Changes: Click Save. The selected utility information will now be automatically associated with all properties in that community, empowering your buyers with the information they need for a seamless transition.
To remove a utility provider:
From the Utilities list under a community, find the provider you want to remove.
Click the ellipses button located beside the provider's name, then select the Remove icon.
Confirm the action. The provider will be permanently removed from that community
